Pathology 438 Directed Studies
In Year 4 of the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science Program, you’ll have the opportunity to enroll in an optional directed studies course. Under the guidance of a faculty supervisor, students carry out and participate in all aspects of the research project — from the initial research design through to experimentation and data analysis.
Past students have pursued diverse areas of research, including:
- Genome-wide scan for calcific aortic valve stenosis (BC Cancer Research Agency)
- Comparison of lab tests in the evaluation of Pregnancy Associated Proteinuria (GEM Program, Children’s and Women’s
Health Centre of British Columbia)) - Molecular Characterization of Cryptosporidium (BC Centre for Disease Control)
- Pathogen Inactivation in Stored Platelets (Canadian Blood Services))
